NUVON VEGA SOLUTION: IDC
The Nuvon VEGA solution includes a set of built-in microprocessors each designed to perform a particular function. These Intelligent Device Controllers, or IDCs, reside within the Nuvon VEGA server and are loaded onto the IDM-MG appliances. IDCs can analyze, monitor, and provide device management; receive and generate device specific events; and acquire, and transmit data flow.
Picture a massive grid with parallel lines crossing one another. The IDCs can be thought of as the cells in this grid, processing the data that flows within the intersecting lines, ensuring that the right IDC is processing event specific data, and delivering it to the correct system destination. Having this type of grid architecture allows the IDCs to monitor and handle sensitive data in a network with thousands of multi-vendor devices. The devices can range from small, legacy devices with vendor specific interfaces, to computer-hosted and controlled systems.
An IDC is designed to be able to execute specific tasks and can feed data to other IDCs on its network. Thus, IDCs not only process new system data, but also data flowing from one IDC to another within the Nuvon VEGA solution, as well as directly sending event data into the Nuvon VEGA server. The IDM-MG appliance automatically configures the process flow for the IDCs, securely interconnecting the data between IDCs, Nuvon VEGA server, and third-party web services.
